Woodhead reservoir is a man-made lake near the hamlet of Woodhead in Longdendale in north Derbyshire, England. It was constructed by John Frederick Bateman between 1847 and June 1877 as part of the Longdendale Chain of reservoirs to supply water from the River Etherow to the urban areas of Greater Manchester. It is at the top of the chain of reservoirs and was the first to be started, though, due to construction problems, it was the last to be completed.

Greenfield Reservoir is a reservoir in the Saddleworth parish of the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham in Greater Manchester, in the English Peak District. Lying within the historic boundaries of the West Riding of Yorkshire, above the village of Greenfield, it is on the edge of the Peak District National Park, near the A635 road on Saddleworth Moor. The reservoir is fed by the Greenfield Brook and is above the Yeoman Hey Reservoir, which in turn feeds into Dovestone Reservoir.

Arnfield Reservoir is a man-made lake in Longdendale in north Derbyshire, England. It was constructed in 1854 as part of the Longdendale chain to supply water from the River Etherow to the urban areas of Greater Manchester. Unlike the other reservoirs in the chain, Arnfield and Hollingworth Reservoir are not in the Etherow valley but lie in the valley of tributary brooks to the north and above (Arnfield lies around 1 mile from Bottoms Reservoir in the Longdendale Chain).

Boshaw Whams Reservoir is an upland waterbody near to the village of Hade Edge, in West Yorkshire, England. The site was originally built in 1840 to keep a supply of water for mill-owners downstream, but is now owned by Yorkshire Water but still used as a compensation reservoir for river water levels. It is used recreationally by a sailing club and for fishing.

Thruscross Reservoir is the northernmost of four reservoirs in the Washburn Valley, lying north of Otley and west of Harrogate in North Yorkshire, England, near the hamlet of Thruscross. It can be found on an unclassified road from the A59 road (where the road from Otley joins). Permission to construct the reservoir was granted to Leeds Corporation Waterworks via the Leeds (Lindley Wood Reservoir) Water Order 1960 (SI 1960/2298) and Thruscross was completed in 1966, much later than the other three reservoirs which date back to the nineteenth century.

The lake, which is fed by land drainage, covers an area of 7 hectares (17 acres), and enters the River Aire via Yeadon Beck, which drains from the tarn at is western side. The tarn attracts a wide variety of wildlife and is additionally used for recreational activities.
