Editor's Notes
A broad, shallow mere at the heart of Delamere Forest, Cheshire's largest woodland. Drained for planting in the 19th century, the mossland was deliberately re-flooded in the late 1990s and is now a haven for waterbirds, ringed by popular forest cycling and walking trails.
