The "Crown Jewel" of Naperville, this 1.75-mile brick pathway follows the West Branch of the DuPage River past fountains, covered bridges, and outdoor sculpture. Built by community volunteers in 1981 for the city's 150th anniversary, highlights include Paddleboat Quarry, the Dandelion Fountain, a 72-bell Millennium Carillon in Moser Tower, and Centennial Beach — a historic swimming area with sand volleyball. Dogs welcome on leash; bikes and scooters are not permitted on the Riverwalk path.
River to Sea Preserve
An 84-acre coastal sanctuary stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the Matanzas River in Palm Coast, this preserve features a unique beach with coquina rock formations and a shoreline of crushed seashells. Trails wind through oak scrub and hardwood hammock, while paved walkways with observation decks overlook the Intracoastal Waterway. A Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail site, visitors may spot ospreys, bald eagles, manatees, dolphins, and sea turtles. Free admission, open sunrise to 11 PM.

A stunning 200-foot horsetail waterfall cascading from a hanging valley on Washington's Olympic Peninsula near Hood Canal. A swimming hole at the base is popular on warm summer days. Free parking, no passes required. The waterfall flow is strongest during heavy rain and spring snowmelt.
